Did you know Aegon is Best Buy, and it's in Texas?

It's amazing how confused a 3 year old can get over simple geography. My husband freqently works at Aegon, a large company in Cedar Rapids, conducting moves within their facility. For some reason, Tyler is OBSESSED with Aegon. He LOVES to talk about Daddy working at Aegon, and about a month ago, decided that the Best Buy just down the road from us, WAS Aegon. ??????????? How in the world did he decide to make that connection, you ask? I have NO idea. We even have to read the Best Buy ad from the Sunday paper, because it's the "Aegon Ad".

So, my husband went to Texas a couple of weeks ago to conduct a move with Aegon in one of their facilities down there. He was gone for 4 days, and Tyler missed him terribly! When Kyle returned, Tyler wouldn't stop talking about Aegon until Kyle told him that he knocked it down so he can never go back.

Now, Tyler thinks Best Buy is Aegon, and it's in Texas, and down the street from us, and daddy knocked it down. Try to EVEN make sense of that!

Oh, and Texas was knocked down too!

My first post

I read a blog the other day from another mom, who has triplets. It makes me thankful that I only had one child at each birth (two total), but also made me really want to start capturing what is going on in our lives - because life moves so fast!

The title of my blog came from my 6 month old son's last Doctor appointment. He is over a pound heavier than my first son (who is huge!), was at his 6 month appointment. I made the comment that he was "growing like a weed", and the Dr. corrected me - and said "he's growing like a Stanfield!". What can I say - with my husband at 6'4" and me at about 5'11", we make big babies!

Quick Bio on us: I'm 34, work full time at an absolutely insane job, and wonder why I'm doing it half the time. The other half the time I'm really enjoying it - either that or too tired to tell. It does really drive me, but I often think it might just kill me if I do it for more than one more year.

My husband, Kyle, is 33 and is in sales. I found out while I was on maternity leave with our last child just how "flexible" Kyle's schedule is. I don't think he worked past 3pm but 2 times, and often was home after lunch - just in time to get 9 holes in, if not 18. I should also say that Kyle is a full-time golfer in the summer.

Tyler is 3, and is an absolute maniac! He was been this way since the day he was born. It wasn't until he started daycare that I found out that there are babies that will lay on the floor and entertain themselves, and don't cry every 10 minutes. Tyler also had about 12 ear infections so far in his life - has had tubes twice, his adenoids removed, and his tonsils out just after his second birthday. I would be pissed too if I was him.
Connor is 6 months, and is my sweetheart. Connor was my baby that will lay on the floor and entertain himself. He is currently obsessed with his feet - and will play with them forever! He's also getting teeth - the bottom two have come in, and the top two look like they're thinking about it - so he has his moments. Oh - and he HATES to nap!!!! I think this kid naps, on average, about 1.5 hours a day - TOTAL! Today he took two naps - the last one ending at daycare at 11:50 - which meant he was a PILL all evening, until we put him down for a "nap" at 6:30. That was 2.5 hours ago. I'm just going to let him sleep - and I'll pay for it in the morning I'm sure. He's been waking up at 4:15 hungry lately, so I feed him and he goes back to sleep - but sometimes not deep enough to be put back in bed. I slept in the rocking chair from 4:30 until 5:30 this morning. At least it's sleep.
